Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Strataderm is a transparent, rapidly drying, non-sticky topical silicone gel formulation designed for the prevention and treatment of abnormal scarring, including hypertrophic scars and keloids. Developed by Stratpharma, it consists of a blend of silicones, including polydimethylsiloxanes, siloxanes, and alkylmethyl silicones. The gel works by forming a protective, breathable, and waterproof silicone sheet over the scar, which helps to normalize collagen synthesis and maintain skin hydration. This process results in the softening, flattening, and reduction of redness and discoloration of scars. It is indicated for use on all types of scars resulting from surgery, trauma, burns, and acne, and is suitable for sensitive skin, including use in infants and children.
