Drug intelligence / Profile preview
StrataMGT is a film-forming, semi-permeable silicone gel developed for the management of symptoms associated with vulvar lichen sclerosus (VLS). Classified as an FDA-registered Class I medical device, it is composed of medical-grade silicone polymers that create a hydrophobic, semi-occlusive, and bacteriostatic barrier on the vulvar tissue. This barrier provides hydration while allowing gas exchange and protecting the mucosa from external irritants such as urine, infection, and friction. Research indicates that StrataMGT may also suppress pro-inflammatory cytokines, thereby reducing inflammation and improving quality of life for patients with VLS. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials led by Dr. Andrew T. Goldstein as a non-steroidal therapeutic option.
