StrataXRT

StrataXRT is a silicone-based, film-forming topical gel developed by Stratpharma AG for the prevention and treatment of radiation-induced dermatitis. It is a non-sterile, semi-occlusive wound dressing that forms a thin, flexible, and waterproof protective film when applied to the skin. This film adheres to the skin's contours, providing a physical barrier that protects the affected area from external factors while maintaining a moist environment to facilitate healing and reduce symptoms such as erythema, pain, and itching. Unlike some other topical agents, it does not have a bolus effect, making it suitable for use during radiation therapy sessions. It has been evaluated in clinical trials sponsored by the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute for patients with breast and head and neck cancers.
