Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Strengthening Spleen and Relieving Toxin Decoction is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed by ShuGuang Hospital, affiliated with the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is primarily investigated as a maintenance therapy for patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) who have achieved disease control after first-line chemotherapy. The decoction is designed based on TCM principles to "strengthen the spleen" (improve digestive and immune function) and "relieve toxins" (exert anti-tumor effects). In clinical trials, it is often evaluated in combination with standard chemotherapy (such as fluoropyrimidines) to prolong progression-free survival and improve quality of life by mitigating chemotherapy-induced side effects.
