StreptAnova

StreptAnova is a recombinant protein vaccine candidate developed by NovaDigm Therapeutics for the prevention of infections caused by *Streptococcus pyogenes*, also known as Group A Streptococcus (GAS). The vaccine is designed to target the M protein, a primary virulence factor of GAS that facilitates bacterial adhesion, host cell invasion, and evasion of the immune system. StreptAnova aims to elicit protective antibody and T-cell responses against conserved regions of the M protein, potentially providing broad-spectrum protection across multiple serotypes of the pathogen. The development of this vaccine was intended to address a wide range of GAS-related conditions, including pharyngitis (strep throat), impetigo, and severe invasive diseases such as necrotizing fasciitis and toxic shock syndrome, as well as post-infectious complications like rheumatic heart disease.
