Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Stresson (often referred to as Stressor in clinical trial contexts) is an immunostimulating enteral nutrition formula developed by Fresenius Kabi. It is specifically designed for the dietary management of patients in hypermetabolic or catabolic states, such as those undergoing major surgery for gastrointestinal cancers (e.g., gastric or pancreatic cancer). The formula is enriched with key immunomodulatory nutrients, including arginine, glutamine, and omega-3 fatty acids, along with a high concentration of antioxidants such as selenium, zinc, and vitamins C and E. These components work synergistically to enhance immune function, modulate the inflammatory response, and reduce the incidence of postoperative infectious complications. It is typically administered enterally to support wound healing and clinical recovery in surgical oncology patients.
