Overview

Stromal vascular fraction (SVF) cell therapy, developed by BHI Therapeutic Sciences, is an autologous cell-based treatment derived from adipose tissue. SVF is obtained through enzymatic digestion of fat and consists of a heterogeneous population of cells, including mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), endothelial cells, pericytes, immune cells, and progenitor cells. The therapy functions through multiple mechanisms, including the modulation of inflammation, neuroprotection, angiogenesis, and immunomodulation. Specifically, MSCs within the SVF release anti-inflammatory cytokines such as interleukin-10 (IL-10) and transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) to support tissue repair and paracrine signaling. BHI Therapeutic Sciences utilizes SVF across more than 50 treatment protocols for conditions ranging from orthopedic disorders like osteoarthritis to autoimmune diseases (e.g., multiple sclerosis, lupus) and neurological conditions (e.g., ALS, Parkinson's disease).
