Drug intelligence / Profile preview
StroMed + platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is an autologous cell therapy developed by VivaTech for the treatment of osteoarthritis in the knee, hip, and shoulder. The therapy utilizes StroMed, a proprietary population of non-cultured, adipose-derived stromal/stem cells (ADSCs) isolated from the patient's own fat tissue using a chemical-free ultrasonic cavitation process. These cells are combined with autologous PRP and administered via direct intra-articular injection. The mechanism of action involves the modulation of inflammation and promotion of tissue regeneration within the damaged joint through a heterogeneous cell population that includes stem cells, endothelial progenitor cells, and immune cells with anti-inflammatory properties.
