StroVac

StroVac is an inactivated bacterial vaccine developed by Strathmann for the prevention and treatment of recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs). It consists of a suspension of chemically inactivated uropathogenic bacteria, including six different strains of *Escherichia coli*, as well as *Proteus mirabilis*, *Morganella morganii*, *Enterococcus faecalis*, and *Klebsiella pneumoniae*. The vaccine works by inducing a systemic and local mucosal immune response, increasing the production of specific antibodies (primarily secretory IgA) against these common causes of cystitis. It is typically administered via intramuscular injection in a primary series of three doses, followed by a booster (Booster-StroVac) approximately one year later to maintain immunity.
