Overview

Structolipid is a 20% lipid emulsion used in parenteral nutrition therapy. It contains structured triglycerides where both medium-chain and long-chain fatty acids are esterified to the same glycerol backbone, unlike conventional lipid emulsions that contain either pure long-chain triglycerides or physical mixtures of medium and long-chain triglycerides. This unique structure is designed to improve lipid utilization and metabolism in patients requiring parenteral nutrition.
