Overview
STS is a drug candidate developed by Adherex Technologies. It is currently undergoing Phase III clinical trials for the prevention of hearing loss caused by platinum-based chemotherapy in pediatric patients. These trials are being conducted by the International Childhood Liver Tumour Strategy Group (SIOPEL) and the Children's Oncology Group (COG). The SIOPEL trial focuses on pediatric liver cancer, specifically hepatoblastoma, while the COG study covers five different pediatric cancer indications.
