STS718

STS718 is a novel engineered interleukin-2 (IL-2) mutein designed to selectively expand and activate regulatory T cells (Tregs). It was created by introducing point mutations at the CD122-binding interface of natural human IL-2 and fusing it to an Fc domain, which prolongs its half-life. This engineering enhances its Treg selectivity compared to natural IL-2, without stimulating effector T cells. Preclinical studies have demonstrated its potential to control disease progression in autoimmune glomerulonephritis models and induce human Treg expansion, supporting its development as a therapeutic approach for autoimmune kidney diseases.
