Overview
STSA-1001 is a recombinant, wholly human IgG1 monoclonal antibody developed by Staidson (Beijing) Biopharmaceuticals for the management of cancer pain. It functions by targeting and neutralizing nerve growth factor (NGF), a key mediator in pain signaling pathways. By binding to NGF, STSA-1001 prevents the ligand from interacting with its high-affinity receptor, tropomyosin receptor kinase A (TrkA), and its low-affinity receptor, p75 neurotrophin receptor (p75NTR). This blockade inhibits the sensitization of nociceptors and the transmission of pain signals, offering a targeted biologic approach to treating chronic pain associated with malignancies. The drug is currently in Phase 1 clinical development.
