Drug intelligence / Profile preview
STUP-002 is an AAV9-based in vivo gene therapy being developed by Stand Up Therapeutics for the treatment of Parkinson's disease. The therapy utilizes a direct lineage reprogramming approach to convert endogenous astrocytes into functional dopaminergic neurons within the brain. By replenishing the lost dopaminergic neuronal population, STUP-002 aims to restore motor function and address the underlying pathology of the disease. The program is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
