STX-005

STX-005 is a preclinical-stage investigational therapy developed by Strand Therapeutics that utilizes a circular mRNA (cmRNA) platform to generate Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) T cells directly within a patient's body (in vivo). By delivering programmable mRNA circuits, STX-005 programs endogenous T cells to express CARs, enabling them to target and eliminate specific cells associated with hematological malignancies and autoimmune diseases. This in vivo approach aims to overcome the logistical and manufacturing challenges of traditional ex vivo CAR T-cell therapies, such as the need for lymphodepletion and complex cell engineering, potentially providing a more scalable and accessible treatment option.
