Drug intelligence / Profile preview
STX-005 is a preclinical-stage investigational therapy developed by Strand Therapeutics that utilizes a circular mRNA (cmRNA) platform to generate Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) T cells directly within a patient's body (*in vivo*). By delivering programmable mRNA circuits, STX-005 programs endogenous T cells to express CARs, enabling them to target and eliminate specific cells associated with hematological malignancies and autoimmune diseases. This *in vivo* approach aims to overcome the logistical and manufacturing challenges of traditional *ex vivo* CAR T-cell therapies, such as the need for lymphodepletion and complex cell engineering, potentially providing a more scalable and accessible treatment option.
