Drug intelligence / Profile preview
STX-S is an investigational exosome-based COVID-19 vaccine being developed by Capricor Therapeutics in collaboration with the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). The vaccine platform utilizes proprietary exosomes engineered to express the SARS-CoV-2 spike (S) protein on their surface. By presenting the viral antigen in this manner, STX-S aims to stimulate a robust immune response. It is currently being evaluated in a Phase 1 dose-escalation study as a booster dose in healthy adults who have previously received primary COVID-19 vaccinations. This development program is supported by the U.S. government's Project NextGen initiative, which focuses on advancing next-generation vaccine technologies.
