Stypro is a resorbable hemostatic sponge developed by Curasan AG for intraoperative bleeding control. It is manufactured from pharmaceutical-grade porcine collagen (gelatine) and features a porous structure capable of absorbing blood up to 50 times its own weight. The sponge acts as a mechanical matrix that provides an enlarged surface area to facilitate platelet aggregation and accelerate the physiological clotting process. It is primarily indicated for use in dental, oral, maxillofacial, orthopedic, trauma, and spinal surgeries. As a biodegradable biomaterial, it is completely absorbed by the body via collagenases after achieving hemostasis.
