Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Su-Xue-Sheng plant extract is a botanical compound preparation, specifically an oral cAMP (cyclic adenosine monophosphate) preparation, typically derived from plant sources such as *Ziziphus jujuba* (Jujube). It is primarily utilized in China for the management of chemotherapy-related anemia (CRA) in patients with non-myeloid malignancies. The extract is hypothesized to function by providing exogenous cAMP or stimulating endogenous cAMP signaling pathways, which are critical for the regulation of erythropoiesis and the differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells. In clinical trial settings, it is often evaluated as an adjunct to recombinant human erythropoietin (epoetin alfa) to enhance hemoglobin recovery, reduce the necessity for blood transfusions, and improve the overall quality of life in cancer patients suffering from treatment-induced anemia.
