Subetta

Subetta is an oral antidiabetic medication containing release-active dilutions of antibodies to the β-subunit of the insulin receptor and antibodies to endothelial nitric oxide synthase. It is designed to improve glucose control in patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus, as well as impaired glucose tolerance. The drug acts by modulating the conformational state of the insulin receptor β-subunit, thereby activating insulin signaling pathways even in the absence of insulin, which leads to increased adiponectin secretion by mature human adipocytes and improved glucose uptake in peripheral tissues. Subetta has demonstrated antihyperglycemic effects comparable to rosiglitazone in animal models and has shown efficacy as an add-on therapy for patients with poor glycemic control on intensive insulin regimens. The drug is administered orally, typically as a tablet that dissolves in the mouth.
