UltraD3 is a fixed-dose combination product containing **sucrosomial iron** (30 mg) and **vitamin D3** (cholecalciferol, 2000 IU). Sucrosomial iron is a proprietary oral iron formulation where ferric pyrophosphate is encapsulated within a phospholipid bilayer and a sucrestere matrix (sucrosome). This technology is designed to enhance gastric bypass and intestinal absorption of iron while minimizing common gastrointestinal side effects associated with traditional oral iron salts. Vitamin D3 is included to address the high prevalence of vitamin D deficiency in heart failure patients and to potentially modulate inflammatory and cardiovascular pathways. The product is currently being evaluated in the **VICTORID-HF** trial (Phase 4), a study led by the **University of Padua (DIMED)** in Italy, to determine if this oral combination is as effective as intravenous ferric carboxymaltose in improving exercise capacity (peak VO2) and quality of life in patients with stable chronic heart failure and iron deficiency.
