Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Sudapyridine + itraconazole** is a combination of two small molecule agents under investigation for the treatment of tuberculosis. Sudapyridine (WX-081) is a novel anti-mycobacterial agent currently in phase III clinical trials and designed as a derivative of bedaquiline. Itraconazole is a broad-spectrum triazole antifungal that inhibits fungal cell membrane synthesis by targeting lanosterol 14α-demethylase. The combination is being tested to evaluate efficacy against Mycobacterium tuberculosis, leveraging possible synergistic or additive effects.
