It is formulated as an anti-cold tablet intended for the symptomatic relief of the common cold, influenza, and allergic rhinitis. The medication typically contains a combination of three active ingredients: paracetamol (acetaminophen), phenylephrine hydrochloride, and chlorpheniramine maleate. Paracetamol serves as an analgesic and antipyretic by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system. Phenylephrine acts as a nasal decongestant through selective alpha-1 adrenergic receptor agonism, leading to vasoconstriction in the nasal passages. Chlorpheniramine maleate is a first-generation antihistamine that antagonizes H1 receptors to alleviate symptoms such as sneezing, rhinorrhea, and itchy/watery eyes.
