Sulate

Sulate is a generic formulation of sunitinib, a small molecule multi-targeted receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) inhibitor. Developed and manufactured by Pioneer Pharma in Iraq, it is primarily indicated for the treatment of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST). Sulate exerts its therapeutic effect by inhibiting multiple receptor tyrosine kinases involved in tumor growth, pathologic angiogenesis, and metastatic progression. Its primary targets include vascular endothelial growth factor receptors (VEGFR-1, -2, and -3) and platelet-derived growth factor receptors (PDGFR-α and -β). By blocking these signaling pathways, Sulate inhibits the proliferation of tumor cells and the formation of new blood vessels that supply the tumor. It also targets the stem cell factor receptor (KIT), which is a key driver in the pathogenesis of GIST.
