Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A triple combination therapy for type 2 diabetes mellitus that combines three different mechanisms of action. Sulfonylureas stimulate insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells, pioglitazone improves insulin sensitivity by activating PPAR-gamma receptors, and liraglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist that enhances glucose-dependent insulin secretion and suppresses glucagon secretion. This combination has shown significant efficacy in improving glycemic control in patients with poorly controlled diabetes.
