Overview
SULGEN Spray Birke is a sublingual allergen immunotherapy (SLIT) spray developed by ROXALL Medizin GmbH for the treatment of birch pollen-related allergic rhinitis and allergic rhinoconjunctivitis. The formulation contains native birch pollen allergen extracts, primarily targeting the Bet v 1 allergen, dissolved in a glycerine solution at a concentration of 30,000 TU/mL. A distinguishing feature of this therapy is its maintenance-dose-from-day-one protocol, which eliminates the need for an up-titration phase. It has been studied in Phase II clinical trials in Germany, where its safety and efficacy were evaluated using titrated nasal provocation tests.
