sulglicotide

Sulglicotide (also known as sulglycotide) is a sulfated glycopeptide drug extracted from pig duodenal mucin and used primarily for the treatment of peptic ulcer disease and gastro-oesophageal reflux disease. It acts as a cytoprotective agent in the gastrointestinal tract, promoting mucosal defense by stimulating the secretion of mucus and bicarbonate by gastric mucosal cells. Sulglicotide also inhibits pepsin activity and reduces inflammation associated with *Helicobacter pylori* infection by inhibiting bacterial adhesion to gastric epithelial cells, decreasing translocation of virulence factors (such as CagA and VacA), and suppressing pro-inflammatory cytokine secretion (e.g., IL-8). Its main therapeutic indications are peptic ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease, gastritis associated with *H. pylori* infection, and it has also been studied for oral mucositis related to chemotherapy or radiotherapy[1][3][6][7][8].
