Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SuliXen is a proprietary long-acting insulin formulation developed using Lipoxen’s (now Xenetic Biosciences’) polymer-based drug delivery technology, designed to provide sustained basal insulin activity for the treatment of type 1 and type 2 diabetes. It incorporates insulin into a biodegradable or otherwise modified carrier matrix intended to prolong circulation time and reduce injection frequency compared with conventional insulin preparations, with development initially focused on preclinical evaluation in diabetic animal models. By extending insulin’s duration of action while preserving its glucose-lowering properties via insulin receptor activation, SuliXen aims to improve glycemic control and patient adherence relative to standard insulin therapies.[8][12]
