sulumumab

Sulumumab (SHR-1654) is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody that targets interleukin-17A (IL-17A), developed by Guangdong Hengrui Pharmaceutical (a subsidiary of Jiangsu Hengrui Medicine). It is designed to treat autoimmune and inflammatory diseases by neutralizing IL-17A, a key pro-inflammatory cytokine involved in the recruitment of neutrophils and the induction of other inflammatory mediators. By blocking the interaction of IL-17A with its receptor complex, sulumumab inhibits the inflammatory cascade that drives conditions such as plaque psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. Sulumumab is considered a second-generation IL-17A inhibitor in Hengrui's pipeline, following vobasidorsen (SHR-1314), and is currently in late-stage clinical development for multiple indications.
