Overview

SUN-0864 is an orally administered, selective, biased small-molecule agonist of the melanocortin-4 receptor (MC4R) developed by Superluminal Medicines. Engineered using generative biology and chemistry, the compound is designed to selectively activate specific signaling pathways within the MC4R system to regulate energy homeostasis and appetite while avoiding common class-associated side effects such as skin darkening and cardiovascular issues. SUN-0864 is being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials for the treatment of obesity, overweight, and rare genetic forms of obesity, including Bardet-Biedl syndrome (BBS) and hypothalamic obesity.
