SUN E7001

SUN E7001 is an intranasal formulation of recombinant human glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), specifically the GLP-1 (7-36) amide form. It is being investigated by Hvidovre Hospital for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. As a GLP-1 receptor agonist, it stimulates glucose-dependent insulin secretion and suppresses glucagon release. The intranasal delivery route is designed to provide a non-invasive alternative to traditional subcutaneous injections, potentially improving patient adherence and reducing the gastrointestinal side effects typically associated with systemic GLP-1 receptor agonists.
