Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Suncoril (also known as Suncoril Expectorant) is a fixed-dose combination syrup developed by Sunlife Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of cough and respiratory conditions associated with bronchospasm and viscid mucus. The formulation contains four active ingredients: terbutaline (a selective beta-2 adrenergic receptor agonist that acts as a bronchodilator), ambroxol (a mucolytic agent that thins and loosens phlegm), guaifenesin (an expectorant that increases the volume and reduces the viscosity of respiratory tract secretions), and menthol (which provides a cooling sensation and local anesthetic effect via TRPM8 activation). Together, these components work synergistically to relieve chest congestion, facilitate expectoration, and ease breathing.
