Sunitinib + pemetrexed is a combination therapy that has been investigated for the treatment of advanced solid malignancies. Sunitinib is a multi-targeted receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor that blocks cellular signaling by targeting multiple RTKs including PDGF-R, VEGF-R, KIT (CD117), RET, CSF-1R, and flt3. Pemetrexed is a folate analog chemotherapy drug that works by blocking the action of certain substances in the body that may help cancer cells multiply. The combination has been studied in clinical trials, particularly in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and mesothelioma.
