Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SupCBAKK is a postbiotic formulation consisting of the mixed fermented metabolites (supernatants) derived from the probiotics *Clostridium butyricum* (CB) and *Akkermansia muciniphila* (AKK). It is being investigated as a therapeutic intervention for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and colorectal cancer (CRC). SupCBAKK functions through a multi-targeted approach by modulating immune responses, repairing the intestinal mucosal barrier, and ameliorating gut dysbiosis. Preclinical research indicates that this combination of metabolites exhibits significant synergistic effects compared to individual components and can enhance the efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitors, such as anti-PD-L1, by increasing tumor sensitivity to immunotherapy and amplifying antitumor immune responses.
