Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Super IL-10 is an engineered variant of interleukin-10 (IL-10), developed by Leman Biotech, designed to act as a potent stimulator of the interleukin 10 receptor (IL-10R). It is classified as an interleukin-based biologic and functions primarily as an immunomodulatory cytokine therapy. Mechanistically, Super IL-10 acts as a strong agonist at the IL-10 receptor, leading to enhanced activation of downstream signaling pathways such as STAT1 and STAT3 in immune cells. Compared to wild-type IL-10, Super IL-10 elicits stronger induction of interferon-gamma (IFNγ) by both CD4+ and CD8+ T cells due to increased STAT1 activation, while maintaining anti-inflammatory properties through suppression of proinflammatory cytokines in myeloid cells. The drug is being developed for oncology indications, specifically for solid tumors[1][2][5].
