super NK cell is an induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived natural killer (NK) cell therapy developed by the Institute of Hematology & Blood Diseases Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. It is being investigated for the treatment of relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and AML with minimal residual disease (MRD). As an iPSC-derived product, it is designed to be an "off-the-shelf" therapy, potentially overcoming the limitations of patient-specific or donor-derived NK cells regarding scalability and standardization. The "super" designation typically refers to optimized expansion protocols or genetic enhancements intended to improve the cytotoxicity, persistence, and tumor-infiltrating capabilities of the NK cells compared to conventional primary NK cells. In clinical settings, it is often evaluated alongside chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-modified NK cells to establish a baseline for safety and efficacy in myeloid malignancies.
