SuperCitrimax (HCA-SX) is a patented, water-soluble calcium/potassium salt of (-)-hydroxycitric acid (HCA) derived from the dried fruit rind of *Garcinia cambogia*. Unlike simple calcium salts of HCA, the double-salt configuration of SuperCitrimax is designed for enhanced solubility, bioavailability, and absorption. Its primary mechanism of action is the competitive inhibition of ATP citrate lyase, the enzyme responsible for converting citrate into acetyl-CoA, which is a critical step in de novo lipogenesis (fatty acid synthesis). By inhibiting this pathway, SuperCitrimax reduces fat production and promotes glycogen synthesis in the liver, which may signal satiety to the brain via the vagus nerve. Clinical research also suggests that SuperCitrimax may increase synaptic serotonin levels, further contributing to appetite suppression and reduced food intake. It is widely used as an ingredient in dietary supplements for weight management and metabolic health.
