Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SuperClot is an absorbable hemostatic system composed of Absorbable Modified Polysaccharide (AMP) particles derived from purified plant starch. It is designed to control bleeding during surgical procedures or following traumatic injuries. As a medical device, its primary mechanism of action is the rapid absorption of water from blood—up to 1300% of its mass—which concentrates platelets, red blood cells, and coagulation proteins at the site of injury, thereby accelerating the natural physiological clotting cascade. The product is biocompatible, non-pyrogenic, and contains no human or animal-derived components. It is manufactured by MAC's Medical.
