Overview
Suprimun is an immunosuppressant small molecule developed and marketed by Amega Biotech. It is a prodrug of mycophenolic acid (MPA), which acts by inhibiting inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase (IMPDH). This inhibition leads to the depletion of guanine nucleotides, which are essential for DNA synthesis in T and B lymphocytes, thereby suppressing their proliferation. Suprimun is indicated for the prophylaxis of acute organ rejection in patients receiving allogeneic kidney, heart, or liver transplants, typically used in combination with cyclosporine and corticosteroids.
