Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SurgiClear is a dual-antimicrobial clear silicone adhesive dressing developed by Covalon Technologies for the management of post-operative wounds and vascular access sites. It is the first dressing to combine two powerful antimicrobials—chlorhexidine gluconate and silver ions—within a soft silicone adhesive. This combination provides a broad-spectrum antimicrobial barrier effective against a wide range of bacteria and yeasts, helping to reduce the risk of surgical site infections (SSIs) and catheter-related bloodstream infections (CRBSIs). The transparent film allows clinicians to monitor the site without dressing changes, while the silicone adhesive provides a secure yet gentle interface that minimizes pain and skin trauma upon removal.
