Surufatinib is a novel, oral small molecule angio-immuno kinase inhibitor developed for the treatment of cancer, particularly neuroendocrine tumors. It selectively inhibits the tyrosine kinase activity associated with vascular endothelial growth factor receptors (VEGFR1/2/3), fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 (FGFR1), and colony stimulating factor 1 receptor (CSF-1R). By targeting these pathways, surufatinib blocks tumor angiogenesis and modulates tumor-associated macrophages to enhance anti-tumor immune responses. Surufatinib has demonstrated efficacy in phase III clinical trials for both pancreatic and extrapancreatic neuroendocrine tumors, leading to its approval in China for these indications. It is also under investigation for other solid tumors and combination regimens with immunotherapies[4][5][6][7][8][9][10].
