Surufatinib + camrelizumab is a combination therapy comprising surufatinib, an oral small molecule multi-kinase inhibitor, and camrelizumab, a humanized monoclonal antibody targeting the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) receptor. Surufatinib uniquely targets VEGFR 1, 2, and 3, FGFR1, and CSF-1R. By inhibiting CSF-1R, surufatinib modulates the tumor microenvironment by reducing tumor-associated macrophages, which is hypothesized to synergize with camrelizumab's ability to restore T-cell mediated anti-tumor immunity. This combination is primarily being investigated in China for the treatment of advanced solid tumors, particularly biliary tract cancers such as gallbladder carcinoma and bile duct carcinoma, where it aims to overcome resistance to single-agent immunotherapy through dual anti-angiogenic and immunomodulatory mechanisms.
