This combination therapy is an investigational regimen being evaluated as a first-line treatment for extensive-stage small-cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC). It consists of **surufatinib**, a small molecule multi-kinase inhibitor targeting VEGFR 1/2/3, FGFR1, and CSF-1R; **durvalumab**, a human monoclonal antibody that inhibits PD-L1; and a standard chemotherapy backbone of **etoposide** plus a platinum agent (**cisplatin** or **carboplatin**). Surufatinib provides anti-angiogenic effects and modulates the tumor microenvironment by inhibiting CSF-1R, while durvalumab acts as an immune checkpoint inhibitor to enhance T-cell mediated anti-tumor responses. The Phase II study led by Beijing Chest Hospital aims to determine if the addition of surufatinib to the standard-of-care durvalumab plus chemotherapy regimen improves clinical outcomes in patients with this aggressive malignancy.
