Overview

Survivin-targeted DC cell injection (also known as TRC-001) is an autologous dendritic cell-based cancer vaccine developed by Beijing Tricision Biotherapeutics. The therapy utilizes patient-derived dendritic cells that are loaded with antigens derived from survivin (BIRC5), a protein that inhibits apoptosis and is highly overexpressed in glioblastoma and various other cancers while remaining largely absent in healthy adult tissues. Once administered, these mature dendritic cells present survivin-specific epitopes to the patient's T cells, stimulating the production of cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) that specifically target and eliminate survivin-expressing tumor cells. It is currently being investigated in Phase II clinical trials as a postoperative treatment for patients with newly diagnosed glioblastoma to prevent recurrence and extend survival.
