Overview

Surzebiclimab is a humanized immunoglobulin G1 (IgG1) monoclonal antibody that targets the inhibitory T-cell receptor known as T-cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain-containing protein 3 (TIM-3, also called HAVCR2). By binding to TIM-3, surzebiclimab acts as an immune checkpoint inhibitor, potentially enhancing T-cell activity and promoting antitumor immune responses. It is being developed primarily for the treatment of advanced malignancies, including various solid tumors such as non-small cell lung carcinoma, renal cell carcinoma, and squamous cell carcinomas of the head and neck. Surzebiclimab is administered intravenously and remains investigational; it has not yet received regulatory approval[1][4][5].
