Susceptibility-guided quadruple therapy is a personalized antimicrobial regimen used for the eradication of *Helicobacter pylori*, particularly in patients who have failed previous treatment attempts (rescue therapy). In the clinical trial conducted by the Sixth Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University, this regimen serves as the active comparator and consists of four components: a proton pump inhibitor (specifically Esomeprazole 20 mg), Bismuth Potassium Citrate (220 mg), and two antibiotics selected based on the results of individual antibiotic susceptibility testing. Potential antibiotics include Amoxicillin, Clarithromycin, Metronidazole, Levofloxacin, or Furazolidone. This approach aims to maximize eradication rates by ensuring the bacteria are sensitive to the chosen antibiotics, addressing the global challenge of increasing antibiotic resistance in *H. pylori* infections.
