Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sutertinib is an orally bioavailable, third-generation epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) developed by Jiangsu Suzhong Pharmaceutical Group. It is designed to selectively and irreversibly inhibit mutated forms of EGFR, including sensitizing mutations (such as Exon 19 deletions and L858R) and the T790M resistance mutation, which frequently develops in patients treated with first-generation TKIs. By exhibiting high selectivity for mutated EGFR over wild-type EGFR, sutertinib aims to minimize off-target toxicities such as skin rash and gastrointestinal distress. The drug is currently being evaluated in Phase II clinical trials for the treatment of patients with EGFR mutation-positive locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
