Overview

SUV2208A is an investigational autologous humanized chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy targeting Claudin 18.2 (CLDN18.2), a gastric-specific membrane protein frequently overexpressed in various solid tumors. Developed by Celest Therapeutics (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., the therapy involves the genetic modification of a patient's own T cells to express a CAR that specifically recognizes and binds to CLDN18.2-expressing malignant cells, leading to targeted tumor cell destruction. Research indicates that SUV2208A may utilize a VHH (nanobody)-based antigen-binding domain, which potentially offers advantages in specificity and binding affinity compared to traditional scFv formats. It is currently undergoing Phase 1 clinical evaluation for the treatment of CLDN18.2-positive advanced solid tumors, including gastric, pancreatic, and esophageal cancers.
