Overview

Suvarna Bhasma (also known as Swarna Bhasma) is a traditional Ayurvedic medicine composed primarily of incinerated gold particles—often more than 98% pure gold[1][4][8]. It is used in Ayurveda for its purported rejuvenating and immunomodulatory properties and has been traditionally indicated for a wide range of conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes mellitus, nervous system diseases (such as multiple sclerosis and myasthenia gravis), tuberculosis, chronic fever, respiratory disorders (asthma), autoimmune diseases (like SLE), general weakness, low blood pressure, infertility issues such as low sperm count and poor semen quality[1][2][3][5][7]. The mechanism of action is not fully elucidated by modern science but is believed to involve anti-inflammatory effects and immune modulation due to the presence of nano- or colloidal gold particles. Suvarna Bhasma also exhibits antioxidant activity and may act as a nervine tonic. It is considered one of the most expensive Ayurvedic medicines due to its high gold content[4].
