Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SuVax is a thermostable subunit protein vaccine composed of recombinantly expressed Sudan ebolavirus glycoprotein. It is designed for the prevention and post-exposure prophylaxis of infection caused by Sudan ebolavirus (SUDV), one of the four ebolaviruses known to cause disease in humans. The vaccine utilizes a novel nano-emulsion adjuvant to induce broad immunity and incorporates a proprietary formulation process that enables heat stability, allowing storage at temperatures up to 40°C for at least two years. In nonhuman primate studies, SuVax provided 100% protection against lethal SUDV challenge, with all vaccinated animals surviving and remaining healthy. The recombinant protein manufacturing process and adjuvant used in SuVax have been validated in other clinical-stage subunit vaccines[1][2][3][5].
