Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SUVN-L1101142 is a potent, selective, small-molecule positive allosteric modulator (PAM) of the muscarinic acetylcholine receptor M4 (CHRM4) developed by Suven Life Sciences. It is being investigated for the treatment of psychosis-related disorders and conditions, including schizophrenia and Alzheimer's disease. By targeting the allosteric site of the M4 receptor, SUVN-L1101142 modulates striatal dopamine signaling to alleviate psychotic symptoms while offering a favorable safety profile with a low propensity for motor side effects. Preclinical studies in animal models have demonstrated its efficacy in attenuating amphetamine-evoked hyperlocomotion, prepulse inhibition deficits, and DOI-induced head twitch, as well as reversing time delay-induced memory deficits.
